It should be a sin to know

To feel everything

Every emotion

It should be a sin to know

To dream about betrayals before hand

And whither away as you wait for the day to come

It should be a sin to know

The pain of losing a loved one

And relive it exactly like it was till your loved ones lose you and the cycle goes on

It should be a sin to know

The weight of responsibility

Having to worry about the family

When you haven’t even learned how to do taxes yet

It should be a sin to know

That you have a monster inside your head

When your mind becomes your enemy at night taking you away from everything you love

Why?

Because every time someone says

“You have no idea how it feels…”

The tides come rushing in

And you feel everything all over again

Every stab repeated,

every wound unhealed,

Every cold case of a pent up emotion reopened

Every death relived.

You know exactly how it feels

And still you are supposed to know nothing.
